Major donation launches The Christina and Louis Quilico Fund

Toronto, ON, September 27, 2000 -- Christina Petrowska Quilico, widow of renowned Canadian baritone Louis Quilico, has donated $10,000 to launch the Christina and Louis Quilico Fund at the Ontario Arts Council Foundation. Income from the fund will finance an annual award recognizing outstanding young singers, pianists, and composers for voice.

"I am delighted to establish a fund for young artists," said Ms. Petrowska Quilico. "Louis was a generous artist who did much to further the professional careers of young singers through his many years of teaching and master classes."

The Christina and Louis Quilico Fund is administered by the Ontario Arts Council Foundation, which was established in 1991 to encourage and facilitate private giving to the arts.
